'Affiliate' means an organisation or individual who refers clients to Volow
'Collection' means a collection of eBooks or other content which can be subscribed to via the
'Corporate partner' means an an organisation working with Volow in some way
'Publisher' means any other publisher providing eBooks and/or content via Volow
'Service' means the Volow eBook reading platform and eBook subscription service
'We or us' means Harriman House Ltd
'Website' means volow.co
The Volow Service comprises an online eBook reading platform and eBook subscription
service. The platform can be used to read eBooks that you already own, to access eBooks that you
purchase from Harriman House or to access specific Collections of titles available through the Volow subscription service.
Your account is FREE to use subject to the account email address be verified.
You will receive an email to the email address provided when you sign up directly for an account or
as the result of you being signed up to the service by a Corporate partner. Simply click on the link
provided within the email to verify the email address. The email is sent when the account is first
created, then again on two more occasions (seven days apart). On the 30th calendar day after the
initial account creation, if the account email address has not been verified, the account, and all
related data, will be removed from the Service.
If you purchase eBooks through Volow you will be able to access them via the
Volow platform and optionally download them at the discretion of the individual
book publisher, in the formats made available by the publisher of said eBook(s).
Usually this will mean EPUB and/or KINDLE formats.
eBook purchases are non-refundable, unless the eBook has not been downloaded or accessed offline in any way.
Refunds requests must be submitted within seven days of purchase with proof of purchase (normally
Volow Invoice Number).
Faulty eBooks must be returned to us at with your name, invoice number and description of fault. Refunds are given at the discretion of
Harriman House Ltd.
When you access eBooks through the subscription service you are not able to download or access the
eBook files directly but instead you will be able to read them in their entirety via the
Volow online platform.
By taking out a subscription you are provided with access to, but not given ownership of, the eBooks and any
other content in the relevant Collection as made available through the Service.
- Payments are taken on the date displayed, in the case of a transaction occurring on a weekend or
bank holiday, payment is taken on the next working day.
All prices listed on the Website include Value Added Tax (VAT) where relevant. VAT will be charged
based on your country of residence for tax purposes at the point of transaction.
The Service may include content supplied by third parties and we make no warranties or guarantees
for said third party content.
A single seven day FREE trial is offered to all new accounts and is activated the day after you begin
reading eBook content which is not considered to be part of an eBook’s sample content assuming a
subscription to the Service has not already been purchased. If a subscription to the Service is
purchased during the FREE trial, the remaining period of the free trial will be lost. The FREE
trial may be extended/shorted or terminated at the discretion of
Harriman House with or without
notice at any time. Not all eBooks are included in the FREE trial and the inclusion or otherwise
of eBooks in said trial is at the discretion of the relevant Publisher.
To provide an example of the timing of a FREE trial: If you start reading an eBook on 01/11/2015,
your trial will run from 02/11/2015 00:00 until 10/11/2015 00:00.
By signing up for an account and/or accessing the Service, you will automatically added to the
Volow mailing list as well as the
Harriman House mailing list.
You can un-subscribe from these lists from the settings page in your account at any time .
Not all eBooks are available immediately, some are subject to release dates in the future, and as
such will not be available to read until such time.
eBooks may be included in selected collections but not others, its up to you to check which collection
it belongs to before subscribing. Some eBooks are excluded
from the subscription service and are subject to purchase only. Mistaken subscribing or purchasing
may be refunded at the discretion of Harriman House Ltd.
Harriman House reserves the
right to modify, suspend or terminate the Service, pricing, offers, terms and conditions and your
access to the Service with or without notice at any time.
Harriman House may amend
these terms and conditions at any time without notice to you.
Your use of the Service after such updating of the terms and conditions will constitute consent to
these modified terms and conditions. The current version of the terms and conditions will always be
available on this page. It is your responsibility to review the terms conditions from time-to-time
in order to be informed of any modifications.
Any breach of the terms and conditions, including but not limited to the sharing of copyrighted
material, may result in your immediate exclusion from the Service and/or your account and may result
in legal action being taken against you.
DATA AND PERSONAL INFORMATION
If you register with the Service, we will store your login and any other details securely, and
we will use best industry practice to keep your information safe and secure.
By registering with Volow you agree to us emailing you with offers relating to
Volow and/or other
Harriman House products and
services. You can opt out of these emails at any time via your account preferences or via the links
at the end of these emails.
We will not give or sell your personal information to any third parties unless we ask your express
permission to do so or this is made clear as part of your access to the Service or if your
subscription is arranged and/or funded by one of our Corporate partners.
Payment details submitted via the Website are fully secure, with all information submitted via
SSL to our payment provider Stripe (stripe.com)
who are fully compliant with all relevant payment security regulations. We never retain or
store any of your payment details, but Stripe will store payment details on our behalf as necessary
to provide the subscription service.
As part of the Service's operation we will track and record all the content that you access and may
share anonymous usage statistics with third party publishers and authors.
This allows us to see how many people visit our site, which pages they visit and what technology
they are using. You are not identifiable by this data and we simply use this information to try
and make the site the best we can for our visitors.
We may include Twitter, Facebook, Google and LinkedIn elements on our site which means these companies
may know you visited us.
If you are subscribed to the Service by one of our Corporate partners and/or your subscription is
funded by the Corporate partner we retain the right to share your customer and Service usage data
with said Corporate partner. We will never share payment details with any third party or Corporate
partner and we will never share your individual customer data with any other third parties without
your express permission.
If you sign up to the Volow subscription service 'Volow monthly'
you will be charged the monthly
fee at the point that you provide payment details. The subscription will then run on a rolling
monthly basis. You will automatically be billed again the following month on the same calendar
day that you initially subscribed with or without notice and will continue to be billed on this basis until such time
as you cancel your subscription.
You will receive monthly notification if you choose and an email receipt of payment being received. If we are
unable to take payment we will contact you and alert you and will require alternative payment information
for you to remain subscribed to the subscription service.
If payment fails when you are subscribed to the service, you will need to make a successful payment
within seven days to continue using the service without limitations, if payment is not made within
this time-frame, your subscription will be cancelled.
You can cancel your subscription via your account page at any time without penalty. You will not be
refunded for any period of the subscription remaining but will not be billed again and will retain
full access until your renewal date. Following the renewal date after cancellation you will have
very limited access to eBooks and content hosted or offered by Volow. If you decide
to resubscribe your access will be immediately reinstated.
If you subscribe to a FREE collection, we may not receive renewal reminders and/or subscription extended
emails. Your subscription to a FREE collection will continue automatically on the last day of each period
until cancelled or the collection is not longer available, whichever comes first.
All content and eBooks included in the Service are copyrighted material and any unauthorised copying
or sharing of said content outside of Service via any means is strictly prohibited and could result
in legal action being taken against you as well as your account access being withdrawn/terminated.
Unauthorised copying or sharing means any sharing or copying outside of the specific functionality
of the Service itself which allows limited sharing of content via social media and via the platform
with other users of the Service. No other means of sharing or copying is authorised.
All rights reserved; no part of any of the eBooks may be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system,
or transmitted in any form or by any means, electronic, mechanical, photocopying, recording, or
otherwise without the prior written permission of the relevant Publisher. The eBook may not be lent,
resold, hired out or otherwise disposed of by way of trade in any form of other than that in which
it is published and offered through this Service, without the prior written consent of the relevant Publisher.
Information provided in the eBooks offered through the Service is for information only and may not
be construed as advice.
No responsibility for loss occasioned to any person or corporate body acting or refraining to act
as a result of reading material in any eBooks made available via the Service can be accepted by
Harriman House, any
Publisher or Author.
Whilst every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of all eBooks made available via the Service,

Publisher, Editor and Author cannot accept responsibility for any errors, omissions, mis-statements
All eBooks made available via the Service are intended for your general information and use.
